frequently asked questions

What does St. Paul's Food Bank receive from donors?
  • What we receive week to week varies with the of year.

What do I receive with my order?
  • We offer three types of orders: Singles, Doubles, and Family.
  • Singles are based on one individual and Doubles are based on two people (Single-parent and child or a couple for example).
  • Family orders are built according to their size. A larger family will receive a larger portion of certain goods compared to smaller families. Our orders are based on a three day supply. We try to tailor our bags to accommodate family sizes.

How often can I seek food assistance?
  • You can access assistance through Feed Nova Scotia once every 30 days.

How do I register?
  • You will need to contact Feed Nova Scotia.
  • Have your Nova Scotia Health Card, a contact number, and some personal information available.

When do I pick up my order?
  • Once registered, pick up time is Wednesday morning between 10:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m. at St. Paul's United Church. We recommend you bring re-usable bags when you pick up your order. We also provide a comfortable social gathering while you wait for your food order.

Are your services anonymous?
  • Yes they are.

Should I leave a message?
  • Yes, you can leave a message. Be sure to clearly state your full name and phone number so we can return your call.
